JOB POSTING: Event & Marketing Coordinator 



Spectra venue Management at the Abbotsford Centre requires a highly motivated team player who is well organized, possesses a positive, happy, can-do attitude, and portrays great customer service approach to become the Event and Marketing Coordinator for Spectra Venue Management at the Abbotsford Centre. 

The successful candidate will assist in the management of all events at the Abbotsford Centre: from assisting in the advanced planning of events to the execution of and post event wrap up.  You will assist with the planning, training, scheduling, and supervision of all event staff.  You will coordinate communication between event staff, and delegate assignments to the appropriate employees and departments.  You will need to demonstrate a high energy approach, excel in a fast-past work environment, and can adapt quickly to change.  You will be responsible for resolving conflicts and ensuring that the overall customer, promoter, and all venue guests experiences are positive.  You will work with the Marketing Department to help increase and maintain the public’s awareness of upcoming events, while promoting the facility.  You will assist in continuously improving venue marketing/public relations efforts; develop and maintain cooperative, positive relationships with the community, media, and promoters and assist to promote the facility’s reputation as a world-class venue.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum College Diploma or equivalent experience and must possess strong computer skills (specifically Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Photoshop, and AutoCAD).  You should also be familiar with social networking tools including but not limited to; Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, search engine optimization and database marketing is an asset as well as a strong background in theatre, event and convert production.  Note that a flexible schedule is imperative as evening, weekend, and lengthy shifts are required.  This is a full-time position.
